The kamikaze tactics used by the Hillary Clinton campaign not only does harm to her opponent but it does serious damage to the chances of the Democratic party actually winning the presidency. And i don't think she cares either. According to her it's Hillary or John McCain will be our next president. The Democratic nomination is her birthright and if for some reason she doesn't get it.....well....we are gonna pay. It's her or it's nothing.
Suddenly....nothing seems appealing.
Hillary's supposed "victory" in Pennsylvania where a couple of months ago she led Barack by what was projected to be a 25% margin was won by a margin of 10%. And to eek out that 10% she had to resort to the most deplorable tactics. The Hillary version of "salting the earth" of the Democratic party. And she's getting good at it too. Her strategy now is to insinuate that a vote for Obama is a vote for McCain. She seized on the term "elitist" and is trying very hard to make it stick to Mr. Obama. i Imagine Hillary as having a Republican strategist running her campaign. And if John McCain does't take a page from her book then he's gonna take the whole book before the ink on it is dry.
I never thought i would live to see the day that a black man or a woman could be our next president. I definitey never thought i'd be around to hear the white female candidate calling the single mom raised black candidate an elitist. And yet here we are.
I need a cold shower and a strong slap to the face. And i'm not alone.
Remember journalism..???
Journalism was the highly skilled art of reporting a story without being a part of the story. It involved not having an opinion or a stance and it definitely would not involve conjecture. After all conjecture is fiction and if i need fiction i'll watch FOX News. But now we have these creatures we call "pundits". What are these pundits..?? political oddsmakers in truth. They not only report the "odds" through polling and surveys but they influence the odds through their...umm....conjecture. They like to use charts and graphs but dear god don't ever accuse them of making predictions; those are called "projections" and it's a completely different animal.
Political stories on television closely resemble NFL pre-game shows now. Pundits have now become the familiar sometimes obnoxious faces who earn their living analyzing someone's strengths and weaknesses (mostly weaknesses) followed by the oddsmaking. the problem is by making the odds they are influencing the outcome. And that's just wrong. And we are letting it happen.
And now there is polling revealing that there are a considerable number of Clinton Democrats that would not vote for a black president..?? Who is asking this and why..?? And to what end..?? (liker her campaign...to what end..??) Vote Hillary 'cause America isn't ready for a black President.
That should be her new campaign slogan.
Is Dave a little angry..??
You bet your ass i am. In fact i feel a little bitter and i'm clinging to religion praying to God that things be righted.
And no i don't own a gun. And i ain't voting hillary.
Obama supporters as always will rally. But we must continue to take the high road. i am a great believer in karma. Do the right thing despite the immediate cost. We do reap what we sow.
So...let's sow something good shall we..??
ps. If for some reason i sound elitist i don't mean to. It's just sometimes when you hear someone speak from the heart it can overwhelm you. As Barack did for me.
